In the futuristic world of 2015 you'll "hydrate" Pizza Hut pizzas with your Black & Decker Hydrator.
This clip, from the 1989 movie Back to the Future: Part II, also contains a pretty interesting fruit storage device along with a "Master-Cook" console which looks like some kind of recipe holder.

ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that the more recent futurism is, the more cynicism and negativity I see in it.
ReplyDeleteThis scene makes sure to include a device that doesn't work correctly(fruit machine) and sort of hints that grandma may not be totally comfortable using the voice recognition on the hydrator.
Maybe I just notice this cynicism more in the newer stuff because I can relate to it more. Maybe it's always been there but I can't relate- futurism is almost always the most dated media, with a few rare exceptions.
Hydrate level 4 please!
