Bubble House (1968)


This French house, designed by Antti Lovag in 1968 and photographed by Ken Sparkes in 2006, is a shining example of paleo-futuristic design.

Interesting how much it reminds me of "Barbapapa's New House" (see this synposis for a picture of the new house in question), from the French series of children's books. I'm pretty sure the book came a couple of years later on, so I'm wondering if it was inspired by the house you show, or if that was just kind of the Shape Of Things To Come, housing-wise, at the time.

Wow. I ususally dislike 'arty' houses, but that has a certain charm.
