Pacific Bell Concept Video (Part 1, 1991)

This unnamed Pacific Bell concept video from 1991 is set in the year 2003. With a young woman giving birth as our main plot device, we're able to see how people of the 21st century will work, shop and communicate. Below is part 1 of 3.

  1. This is actually not that far off from where we'll be soon. They're basically using iMacs with the new iChat's desktop-sharing. The emphasis on telephones is a little silly, though.

On an artistic note, I'd like to point out that this video makes it seem like the parents are inside the lady's womb, preparing to be born.

  2. I know nothing of imacs, I was mostly thinking that the doctor had connection to the hospital's intranet (or whatever).

But that does seem to be amazingly well thought out. Did you notice the flat screens, even?
The lack of keyboard is a bit loopy thought; I know those things exist but I ever only see them at artists - and I doubt they use them on notes.
After certain point, it's faster to type with keyboard than with pen. Personally, my alphabets are disgusting.

I think this is the first forecast that actually hit the nail.
